Battle Overture

from Volume IV by Close to Good

/

about

Bands that cover video game music always have original game inspired licks hidden deep in their pockets, it's inevitable. Battle Overture was born out of a concept by Close to Good to compile these various snippets into one cohesive piece.

Originally a series of unrelated melodies, it has become a medley of varied battle themes inspired by the likes of Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) intended for a fictitious game soundtrack.

Refined with repeated live performances and injected with programmed 8-bit effects from Gameboy, Battle Overture is the first track released from Close to Good's upcoming album "Volume IV".

Fun Fact: "Battle Overture" was originally slated to be called "Battle for the Fate of Life and Death and Finally Domination of the Universe".
